Investing in the individuals that shape the design future of building is a privilege for PR Hughes. As an alumnus of the College of Architecture Design and Construction at Auburn University, I am proud to support the Auburn Chapter of the American Institute Of Architecture Students as they co-host South Quad Conference October 17-October 20, 2013.

The four-day experience offers the opportunity for leading professionals in the industry connect, encourage and educate the next generation. The Conference takes place in historic downtown Montgomery, Alabama, and includes an optional tour of Auburn’s Rural Studio and visits to the Auburn University Campus and the Tuskegee University, Co-Sponsor of the Conference, Campus.

I invite the professionals in the fields of Architecture, Design, and Building to join me in encouraging this next generation of architectural innovators.

Kirk was able to and create and design an interesting and unique wall sculpture to represent the company. He has been designing and sculpting unique architectural pieces for over a decade.

Since the energy efficient construction keeps power usage reduced to a minimum, the solar panels provide all the energy needed to power the home. The result is complete energy independence.

Having had experience building one of the first 2.0 Energy Star Homes in North Carolina in 2005, I was intrigued when this opportunity presented itself. Green building and 3.0 Energy Star Construction is appealing to me as a responsible builder. Incorporating the self-sustained component compliments the home perfectly. Building an energy efficient home cost roughly 8-15% more than building a baseline custom home. For anyone planning to remain in his or her home, the return on investment begins almost immediately.

phil-hughesConstruction on this home began in 2010 and even with the complex nature of the build and additional requirements; the home was completed in 11 months. Since the energy efficient construction keeps power usage reduced to a minimum, the solar panels provide all the energy needed to power the home. The result is complete energy independence.
